About Montreal

Canada’s most romantic metropolis, Montréal is an island city that seems to favor grace and elegance: a city full of music, art, and joie de vivre. Montréal is the only French speaking
metropolis in North America and the second largest French-speaking city in the Western world, but it's a tolerant place that over the years has made room for millions of immigrants who have added their cultures to the mix.

Visitors to Montréal will enjoy Vieux-Montréal (Old Montréal) with is cobblestone streets, rich history and quaint shops and restaurants. The European styled cathedral Basilique Notre-
Dame-de-Montréal will inspire all who step through its doors. For dining, Montréal is filled with fabulous cuisine, from all types of French cuisine, such as traditional, haute, bistro, and Quebecois; to ethnic cuisine such as Italian, Thai, Chinese, Greek, and Polish; to poutine (fries with gravy and cheese), which is a must after a late night out on the town.

And if shopping is your thing, you will not be disappointed. You can browse thousands of shops, from world-class designers to the eclectic. Step out of the hotel onto St. Catherine Street, which is home to the highest concentration of stores in Canada and the largest assortment of fashion boutiques and ready-to-wear shops in Canada. In addition, the hotel is connected to a shopping center, which is connected to the underground network that houses 1,500 stores in nine other shopping complexes.

About Quebec City

Québec City is a two and a half hour drive or an easy three hour train ride from Montreal, but it is worth the trip. Ranked among the world's most beautiful cities, this walled city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Treasure. This North American city, which was founded in 1608, is truly European in feel and taste and is laden with history, culture and a French-speaking environment.

Walk the cobblestone streets of the upper part of Montreal, shopping in the unique artist galleries and pure tourist shops, dine on fine food, or visit the castle-like Fairmont Le Chãteau Frontenac, where you can take a tour to learn the history of this amazing hotel. You can also view the beautiful St. Lawrence River from the Upper Town from the Terrasse outside the Château Frontenac or from the Citadelle, where you can take a guided tour of this amazing stone fort.

In the Lower Town, along the river, the oldest neighborhood in North America features time-worn streets brimming with up-to-the-minute shops, charming restaurants, and art galleries.

A short 5-10 minute drive North of the city is Parc de la Chute-Montmorency. This park features an amazing waterfall that falls from a height of 272 feet, which is one and a half times higher than Niagara Falls. You can visit both the top and bottom of the waterfall and can even walk over the top of the waterfall via bridge.
