Do It Yourself: Your Career-Building Toolkit

The focus of the 2005-06 Member Service Project is to provide young lawyers with the tools they need to create their own personal career plans. The project addresses topics such as finding a mentor, seeking constructive feedback, pursuing continuing legal education, finding opportunities for hands-on skills development, and others. These materials are available at YLD conferences, in its publications and on its website, ensuring access to the YLD's 120,000 members.

Tool of the Month
You finished law school, passed the bar exam and landed your first job practicing law. Believe it or not, you still have much to learn about "making it" in your first job after law school. For the next several months, we will be providing you with free "pointers" from 100 Plus Pointers for New Lawyers on Adjusting to Your Job, an American Bar Publication from the ABA Resource Center in cooperation with the ABA Young Lawyers Division. Click on the 100 Plus Pointers for New Lawyers link and get your free pointers or find out how you can order this publication from the ABA web-site.
