ABA YLD 2010 MIDYEAR MEETING ASSEMBLY

DELEGATE CERTIFICATION

Home   ‹   Assembly   ‹   Delegate Certification Instructions

Background Information and Process:

  1. Rule 1 of the YLD Assembly Standing Rules governs the delegate certification process.
  2. Each state bar organization, national affiliate, and military branch is allotted a certain number of delegates.
  3. By December 1, 2009 local affiliates must submit delegate information (name, ABA ID #, birth date, whether they qualify under ABA YLD bylaws or the organization's bylaws, and email address) to their state young lawyer organization.
    See sample.
  4. By December 15, 2009 state bar organizations, national affiliates, and military branches must submit delegate information via the Delegate Certification Form to the YLD. If delegates qualify under state, local, or national affiliate bylaws, you must fax a copy of the bylaws to the ABA at 312-988-6231, Attn: Bill Stanton. The state chair has the authority to apportion delegates between affiliates in a manner consistent with the ABA YLD bylaws.
  5. Prior to the Assembly, delegates will receive an email containing instructions and links to the Assembly documents, including Resolutions.

Contact Bill Stanton, YLD Administrator, at 312-988-5611 with questions.
