American Bar Endowment
Division CLE
Free CLE for Members of the Young Lawyers Division
To ensure the quality of our public service initiatives, it is necessary
to recruit and retain a solid membership base. The ABA YLD recognizes,
as many state and local affiliates similarly recognize, that 90%
of its membership does not actively participate in its meetings
and programs throughout the bar year. This year's member service
initiative provides a valuable benefit to all members, but particularly
those who do not otherwise participate in the activities of the
Division. This is done by the creation of on-line CLE programs,
accessible at any time, day or night, concerning topics of interest
to young lawyers. More than 40 programs are now available in the
library.
These online CLE
programs are free for all young lawyers who are ABA members.
Our online CLE library now includes: Masters On Depositions, and
How to Conduct a Killer Cross-Examination and many more. The link
above will provide descriptions and access to the YLD online library.
ABA CLE Connection
Through
monthly ABA Journal articles and 60-minute companion teleconferences,
the ABA is delivering substantive, convenient, continuing legal
education opportunities to lawyers on the topical legal issues of
the day. This series, a joint project of the ABA Center for Continuing
Legal Education, ABA Membership and the ABA Journal, is designed
to provide the legal practitioner with substantive information ranging
from health care issues to juvenile rights to litigation management.
Mark your calendar for the third Wednesday of each month. All programs begin at 1:00P.M. Eastern Time (ET).
CLE at Meetings and National Conferences
For those Division
members able to attend the national and/or regional meetings, the
Division will continue to offer diverse programming, including affiliate
public service and member service projects, bar leadership and professional
development along with continuing legal education. Please join us
in making this Division an invaluable resource for the public and
for our members. For upcoming meetings visit our meetings
page.
