Best Practices Under the Americans with Disabilities Act for Legal Employers (CLE)

Cosponsors:  Section of Labor and Employment Law and the Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law

The program will consist of a one-hour panel presentation concerning the application of the Americans with Disabilities Act to legal employers.  Panel members include members of the private bar, as well as the EEOC. 

This program will:

  • provide an overview of the employment provisions of the ADA
  • cover requirements concerning "reasonable accommodation" for persons with disabilities
  • include measures that legal employers can take to ensure compliance with the ADA
  • highlight legal opportunities for individuals with disabilities

During his 50-year career, Smith has been a leader as a lawyer, an educator, a mentor, a community servant, and an outstanding citizen.

Wills for Heroes

Wills for Heroes is the ABA YLD Public Service Project for 2007-08.

Attorneys licensed in California will conduct a Wills for Heroes program which will provide basic estate planning documents to first responders. The program will run until 4 pm on Saturday 8/11. We encourage you to visit after the YLD Assembly concludes, and to consider implementing the program in your state. Location and other details are TBD.
