 | What will you be doing when the new millennium arrives? We'll be ringing it in right in the heart of Texas! And all of you urban cowboys and cowgirls will want to join us in Dallas for the ABA's Midyear Meeting on February 11 - 13, 2000. You'll have the opportunity to earn continuing legal education credit at the Division's Professional Development Conference as well as a host of other outstanding CLE programs sponsored by the Division's committees and ABA sections. Starting with a high-energy caucus with colleagues from your district, you will also debate the pressing issues of the day and chart the Division's course for the future at the Assembly. And you can mix and mingle with young lawyer leaders - both past and present - at the annual Fellows Debate and reception. But plan to say "adios" to your business suit and pull on your boots when it comes to our Friday night social event! Because we'll be rocking to the tunes of The Jerry Jeff Walker Band with our friends from the ABA Tort and Insurance Practice Section.
Make sure you plan some free time to take in the sights, sounds, and tastes of Dallas! From our headquarters at the lovely Wyndham Anatole hotel, you will want to take a jaunt to the West End Historic District. Filled with many of Dallas' oldest structures, the West End boasts cafes, arts and crafts, clubs, boutiques, a brewery, and some of Dallas' liveliest nightlife. And make time to visit the famous Texas Book School Depository museum, the Dallas Theater Center (the only theater built to design by Frank Lloyd Wright), Dallas-based Neiman Marcus and the three miles of subterranean shops and restaurants just a block away. To be sure to get the flavor of Texas before you depart, don't overlook the stampede of steakhouses and outstanding Mexican cantinas that highlight Dallas' dining options.
