Program/Project Cosponsorship Proposal Submission

The mission of the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession (CWP) is to secure the full and equal participation of women in the ABA, the legal profession, and the justice system. CWP is interested in providing non-financial support to programs and projects that advance its mission.

We invite you to tell us about your programs, projects, and publications! If you are interested in the CWP’s co-sponsorship of your program or project, please complete this form and hit the submit button below. Please note that all proposals must be in compliance with ABA policies and procedures. Non-ABA members should contact Melissa Wood at woodm@staff.abanet.org.

The Commission considers all co-sponsorship proposals at its quarterly business meetings, Fall Meeting (Oct/Nov); Midyear Meeting (early February); Spring Meeting (late May/early June); and the Annual Meeting (early August).

2008 deadlines for co-sponsorship proposal submission are:

  • Midyear Meeting - January 28
  • Spring Meeting - May 23
  • Annual Meeting - July 25
  • Fall Meeting - TBD

1) Please provide the name of the organization submitting the proposal, address, telephone, fax, email, web address and primary contact person.

2) In 200 words or less, please describe your program/project below. Please include a brief history of the program/project as well as specific dates, times and location.

3) How would the CWP’s co-sponsorship of this particular program/project positively advance the CWP’s mission? How would it advance your mission?

4) Please indicate if your organization has had prior ventures or relationships with CWP (financial or otherwise). Has CWP co-sponsored this or any other programs/projects with your organization? Also, please let us know if there is anyone who is affiliated with the CWP who is involved with your organization and/or this specific program/project.

5) Does your organization or program/project address issues of race and gender diversity? If so, how?

6) Please list any other entities that are involved in your program/project, and the extent of their involvement.

7) As previously stated, CWP is unable to provide financial resources. Other than financing, please indicate what specific type(s) of support you request from CWP and how this support will benefit your program/project.

8) Please indicate if, to your knowledge, any CWP member or staff may derive an individual benefit (monetary or otherwise) in CWP’s cosponsorship with your organization.

9) If you are a local or regional organization, are you affiliated with a larger or national organization? If so, please provide the name and address.

10) Please provide the names of the leadership of your organization including the Board of Directors and officers as well as leaders of the particular program/project for which you are seeking CWP’s cosponsorship.

Is there anything else that you feel the CWP should know in considering this cosponsorship request? Please limit your response to 200 words or less.
