The TIPS Staff Counsel Committee addresses the unique management and practice needs of insurance staff counsel.
It develops, but does not limit, its membership from insurance company in-house or staff counsel programs.
The Committee provides continuing legal education in the areas of ethics, management and trial techniques.
Co-programming is sought with other TIPS committees. The Committee utilizes the latest technology to communicate with
its membership regarding Committee activities and legal updates.

The Staff Counsel Committee is proud to announce the next in its popular series of CLE's for
insurance company attorneys March 25 and 26, 2008 in downtown Chicago.
Called "Tools for the Trenches," it starts with a full day of presentations from bench
and bar, and noted experts, on cross-examination of expert witnesses, followed that afternoon by
two panel presentations by corporate executives, discussing the role of Staff Counsel in Insurance
operations. That day ends with a very unique angle on story-telling, with an interactive
story-teller and law professor who will apply story-telling techniques to your difficult fact
patterns. There will be at least an hour of ethics credit in this day's program as well.
Following past popular formats, the second day of the program is a half-day for managers.
Corporate issues will be addressed, such as human relations and how to conduct more
effective meetings.
