Public Service Projects

The Law and Public Service Committee is responsible
for the Section's public service and legal pro bono projects.

In carrying out this duty, the Committee:

  • 1. May coordinate public service and legal pro bono projects with the Section's General & Special Standing Committees or other ABA Sections
  • 2. Shall appoint a member of the Committee to serve as the Section's liaison to the ABA Consortium on Legal Services and the Public as well as other ABA Commissions or Committees as the Section's Chair or Council shall direct from time to time
  • 3. Shall coordinate the selection of the recipient of the Section's Edmund Muskie Pro Bono Award, including recommending to Council nominees for the award
  • 4. Shall prepare and present from time-to-time Council's plans for public service and legal pro bono projects for the Section; and
  • 5. Shall make reports to Council and the Section Chair in such form and at such time as the Section Chair shall request
