Message From The Chair
Glen R. Olson Letter from the Chair
I am the incoming Chair of the TIPS Professionals’ Officers’ and Directors’ Liability (PODL)
Committee for 09-10. Many thanks to our 08-09 Chair, Joe Kingma of Carlock, Copeland, Semler
& Stair in Atlanta, for his excellent leadership over the past year. During Joe’s tenure,
PODL made great strides as to its CLE programs and publications, in particular. We would
like to continue that progress, and we need your help.
We would appreciate your taking the time to complete an online membership survey relating
to how PODL can better serve the ABA and TIPS communities. The survey is intended to increase
our knowledge of the Committee’s demographics and determine areas in which we need to enhance
our membership recruitment and retention efforts. The survey also inquires as to the types
of CLE programs our members would like to attend (and sponsor) in the future. If there are
particular emerging areas of interest for PODL Committee members, we would like to increase
our focus on those issues. The Survey should only take ten minutes or so to complete.
Beyond completing the survey, we also encourage you to participate in our meetings, CLE
programs and publications. There are opportunities for program sponsorship, article writing
and CLE program presentation. Please feel free to contact me or PODL Committee Chair-Elect,
M. Machua Millet of Edwards, Angell, Palmer & Dodge at
golson@longlevit.com or by phone at
415-438-4483, should you have an interest in pitching in.
Thank you, and I look forward to working with you this year and in 2010.
Very truly yours,
Glen R. Olson
