One of the benefits of the busy year as Chair of TIPS is the right to decide the location of the Fall Meeting. We want to welcome you to our home state of South Carolina, the Palmetto State. We will be meeting at the beautiful Hilton Head Island, Westin Resort on Port Royal Plantation. While some commuter flight connect directly to Hilton Head, two major airports, Savannah and Charleston are readily accessible. A MESSAGE FROM JOSEPH W. DENT,FALL MEETING ARRANGEMENTS CHAIR
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the second largest barrier island on the East Coast, will host the 2008 TIPS Fall Meeting. At Hilton Head, you will find the hospitality of the South Carolina low country and the relaxation of a beach resort.
The meeting headquarters will be the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa in Port Royal Plantation. Port Royal is centrally located and is perfect for venturing out to enjoy everything Hilton Head has to offer.
We will start the meeting off on Thursday night with a welcome reception. With the comfortable autumn weather boasted by the South Carolina coast, the large outdoor deck of the Westin overlooking the pool and the ocean will be the perfect setting for meeting and greeting old and new friends.Click here to view the message in its entirety.

The Westin Resort Hilton Head Island is located at Two Grasslawn Avenue, Hilton Head Island, SC and offers a special group rate of $209.00 single/double. Hotel reservations can be made by calling the hotel direct at 843/681-4000 or by calling toll free at 800/937-8461 and referring to the ABA Tort Trail & Insurance Practice Section’s 2008 Fall Meeting. The room block will be held until exhausted or until, Friday, September 5, 2008. After that date, reservations will be confirmed based on availability. All rooms are subject to a 10% state tax. The hotel check-in is 4:00 pm and checkout is 12:00 pm. All reservations must be guaranteed by credit card or check deposit. Room reservations must be cancelled five (5) days prior to the scheduled day of arrival to avoid a one-night cancellation charge.
