Dear Friends and Colleagues:This year our annual meeting begins on Thursday, July 30th with our Past Chair’s Dinner. It will be held at the elegant Union League Club. On Friday night we kick off our meeting high atop the Willis Tower (AKA the Sears Tower) on its 99th floor. (You can see New York from there!) It will be the site of the TIPS Welcome and Diversity Reception. During the event TIPS will present our Pursuit of Justice and our Liberty Awards. It will be a great beginning for the meeting. Our Leadership Dinner on Sunday night will be held at the wonderful Shedd Aquarium right on the lakefront. Join us for good food, good friends, good times and lots of dancing. A view of the city from the aquarium is just incredible and we will have the run of the museum for the evening.
Our thanks go out to our arrangements chair, John Buckley, and our wonderful Janet Hummons for their hard work arranging these wonderful venues. As always, we have arranged an outstanding lineup of CLE programs under the leadership of Marlo Leach and her Annual Meeting Program committee. TIPS typically dominates the ABA Annual Meeting with the number and quality of its programs. This meeting is no exception. Marlo and the TIPS general committees have done an exceptional job in making sure that we have a wide variety of programs to improve your knowledge, impress your clients, and hone your skills.
It is our hope that you will also take this opportunity to explore the wonderful city of Chicago. Chicago is home to some of the finest museums, restaurants, shopping, nightlife and theater in the country. We have tried to plan this meeting to give you time to get out and sample what Chicago has to offer.
Please join us in Chicago this summer to enjoy the incredible city with its world-class experiences, some great CLE, and wonderful TIPS events that will meet your every expectation. It promises to be a fantastic end to a wonderful Bar year. We look forward to seeing you there.
