Fidelity & Surety Law Committee Annual CLE Midwinter Meeting
A DAY IN THE LIFE

On January 28-30, 2004, the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee changes venue and travels to the Westin St. Francis in the heart of San Francisco’s Union Square for its Mid-Winter Meeting. The program planned for this meeting is unique for a number of reasons:
(1) It will combine fidelity and surety into a one-day fast-paced program,
(2) it will demonstrate to the audience what surety and fidelity professionals deal with on a day-to-day basis, and
(3) it will provide the audience with techniques for handling those issues, specifically focusing on negotiating techniques.
It will also be an opportunity for the audience to round out their libraries by receiving the most recent editions of the Surety Bond Default Manual and the Fidelity Annotated Financial Institution Bonds.

Please join with others in the fidelity and surety industry to see what a “Day in the Life” of surety and fidelity professionals is like and to "see how it is done."

Register now.

FSLC Midwinter Meeting in NYC

The Young Professional Subcommittee is blazing hot after the successful Mid-Winter Meeting!

Our meeting was well attended with many new faces in attendance. Our committee chairs shared many new initiatives. Matt Silverstein and Kevin Russell from our Technology Committee outlined the progress on our Website as well as set forth plans for the new Web page where members can visit to see what is going on with the YPS. Our Communications Committee Chairs shared plans for publishing initiatives for our membership in various industry publications two times a year. …Finally, we honored our tireless outgoing Chair Kyle New with a special presentation of gifts for her efforts.

Kyle New moderated a panel discussion on the topic of assembling a surety default team. We were especially honored by the participation of Vince Fassano and Bob Schumacher of the St. Paul Companies who contributed valuable information from a surety perspective. The topic engendered spirited and lively discussion with great participation from the membership.

Then, it was on to the festivities and boy did we get festive! Scott Kreamer, the host with the most, opened the doors to the hugely successful Social Suite where cocktails and conversation mixed as easily as a martini! YPSters kept up the merriment at Mica Bar and Bliss for some funky sofa lounge action. For a turn at the sophisticated offerings in New York, YPSters broke bread at Café Joul, a favorite French bistro for locals, and tasted wines at Le Bateau Ivre… Parlez-vous francais? I think so!

The Mid-Winter Meeting would not be complete without the YPS, Women and Minorities cocktail reception hosted by the Chairman of the FSLC at the Presidential Suite in the Waldorf-Astoria. We thank Armen Shahinian for his warm and gracious welcome to current and prospective YPSters and for all his support to our organization.

Overall, the Mid-Winter meeting was a recruiting success!!! We signed many new members who are lively and full of exciting ideas about the YPS future. I am sure you will join us in giving our new members a warm welcome.

Thanks for making this Mid-Winter meeting a huge success. Catch us at the Spring 2001 Meeting!

Scott Kreamer and Dominique Sena
