Where can you find legal technology information on the Internet? There are literally
hundreds, if not, thousands of technology sites and quite a few of them cover legal
technology. One of the best legal technology sites is the ABA's Law Technology Resource
Center ("LTRC") (www.abanet.org/tech/ltrc). The LTRC
site provides a wealth of legal technology information, including facts about the ABA's
Techshow, legal technology surveys, and information on technology projects and software.
LTRC has now added a new feature to its site called the Technology Referral Service (www.abanet.org/tech/ltrc/trspage.html). The Technology
Referral Service organizes legal technology information into various categories and
provides links to technology sites that focus on legal technology. In addition to the wide
variety of ABA technology resources, the Technology Referral Service has links to State
Bar technology pages and court technology sites. There are links to software
demonstrations, shareware, software news and developments, legal office suppliers, legal
software vendors, and law technology consultants. The Technology Referral Service provides
links to periodicals on legal technology, CLE sites, shopping assistants to help with
technology purchases, sites covering various issues in law and technology, and legal
research sites.
Two very interesting listings on the Technology Referral Service are its links to
"cool" legal technology and to virtual assistants, which help you with
calendaring, scheduling, appointments, and other personal assistant tasks. The Technology
Referral Service provides lawyers with a great jumping-off point when looking for legal
technology services, resources, or products. If you have any hot sites or any questions
about the Internet, please send them along to lpschiffe@llgm.
