CORPORATE
COUNSEL COMMITTEE
The Partnership Against Domestic
Violence
The Corporate Counsel Committee is seeking
donations to support The Partnership Against Domestic Violence, a volunteer organization
whose mission is to stop domestic violence through intervention, prevention and
educational services for families and the community.
The Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) was founded in 1975 as the Council on
Battered Women. PADV maintains a 24-hour crisis line and two emergency shelters that
provide housing for 80 women and children. The agency also offers support groups, a
parent child program, legal advocacy, court escorts and referrals for housing, employment,
medical care, schooling and daycare. PADV also provides community outreach by providing
training opportunities, by collaborating with other organizations and businesses and by
providing educational presentations to a variety of groups. PADV is also committed to
violence prevention and presents anti-violence programs for Batterers and for children and
youth in PADV's shelters and in the community.
PADV currently employs 28 full-time staff at its two shelters and at its main offices. The
agency receives funding from a variety of sources, including individuals, groups,
government and foundation grants and the United Way.
