BUSINESS
LITIGATION COMMITTEE

|
Welcome to the home web page of the Business Litigation
Committee of the Torts and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS), a section
of the American Bar Association.
The BLC exists to provide a forum for discussion and evaluation
of issues relating to business torts, which can include, to name just
a few, the theft of trade secrets, the breach of fiduciary duties,
violation of covenants not to compete and solicit, and infringement
of intellectual property rights.
On an annual basis, the BLC makes a detailed presentation
of a particular hot issue relating to business torts at the ABA's
annual meeting; the presentation is open to all members of the ABA,
and CLE credit is typically available to those attending.
Please click on the "News/Events" link to find out
about upcoming programs being sponsored by the BLC. On a daily basis,
the leadership and members of the BLC are immersed in representing
clients in business tort matters of all kinds; this committee serves
most importantly as a resource for those practitioners. Through the
BLC newsletters, annual survey of important cases, program materials,
and this web site, the committee strives to provide practitioners
with a sound and current foundation in the developing law of business
torts.
