As Chair of ABA/TIPS Business Litigation Committee (“BLC”), I would like to thank you for visiting our committee webpage. It is my honor to Chair this Committee for 2009-2010. The BLC is one of the best committees in TIPS and the ABA. For a schedule of our upcoming meetings and programs, click here.

The BLC covers all aspects of business litigation, including breaches of and interference with contracts, fraud, deceptive trade practices, lender and consumer liability, misuse of intellectual property, and other business and employment torts. Focus includes not only substantive law issues, but also techniques to effectively present a case to a jury, judge or arbitrator. Our membership is large and varied. Many of our members represent business clients, both in prosecuting and defending actions, but we also have many in-house attorneys, staff counsel and plaintiffs’ counsel among our membership.

The BLC has some exciting plans for 2009-2010. We will continue to provide excellent legal publications like the Business Litigation Newsletter. Committee members can view the current and archived editions of the Newsletter. Also, we will publish a class action book, which we hope will be an invaluable resource on class action litigation. We will also continue to contribute to the annual review edition of the TIPS Journal.

Joining the BLC is simple. If you are already a member of the ABA and TIPS, you can join the BLC for free, by clicking here . You can join the ABA or TIPS, by clicking here. Once you are a member of our committee, you can immediately receive new editions of the Business Litigation Newsletter, access archived editions of the Newsletter online on this website, and receive notice of and discounts for our continuing legal education programs. All members of the committee are also free to attend any of our committee business meetings, held during TIPS’ quarterly leadership meetings. See our annual report, by clicking here.

The BLC is fortunate to have excellent leadership this year, all of whom are working hard to assist me in better serving our members. View our complete leadership roster here. If you are interested in becoming more involved with the BLC, just contact me.

Again, thank you for visiting the BLC’s webpage. It is my honor to lead the committee during the 2009-2010 year. I look forward to working with all of you in the coming months.

With kind regards, I remain

Very truly yours,

Wyndall A. Ivey
