Dear Colleagues:
“New York, New York. It’s a wonderful town.” There is no place like New York and our trip down memory lane will leave all of us wanting more. As we celebrate TIPS 75th Anniversary, we start at the very beginning on Friday evening, August 8th, with “A Night to Remember” at the historic Ellis Island. We will trace and relive the moment our ancestors arrived on U.S. soil from faraway lands, to have a life of freedom and untold opportunities. On Sunday, August 10th, we will honor TIPS and its members with a black-tie invited leadership/anniversary celebration.
Don’t forget all that New York has to offer – we have left plenty of time for you and your family to enjoy the sights and sounds of New York – from shopping to theatre, to the best restaurants in the world. Bring your walking shoes - you don’t need the Easter parade to stroll down 5th Avenue. Visit the newest high point – The Top of The Rock, and revisit the old – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and more. I want to hear about your experience riding the New York subways (yes, it is perfectly safe) to your visit to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, or taking the kids to the South Street Seaport. Go cheer the Bronx Bombers (the NY Yankees) or the Amazing Mets.
New York is famous for its museums and there are special exhibits planned during our stay, at the Museum of Natural History, the Guggenheim Museum and MoMA (Dali exhibit).
But most of all, see a Broadway Show – there is something for everyone. Take the family to see: The Lion King, Mary Poppins, or The Little Mermaid. Then treat yourselves to Jersey Boys, Spamalot, Legally Blonde, or South Pacific – just to name a few.
Get the most out of your trip to New York this August – from the finest CLE to the magnetism of the cultures and neighborhoods that make New York “my kind of town.” See you soon.
