ADMIRALTY AND MARITIME LAW
The Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee of the American Bar Association
Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section brings together plaintiffs' attorneys,
defense attorneys and insurance industry counsel for the exchange of
information and ideas. The Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee strives
to serve as the primary resource for admiralty and maritime law tort
and insurance practice education and knowledge. The Admiralty and Maritime
Law Committee also encourages its membership to uphold the tenets of
the American Bar Association: Defending liberty and pursuing justice.
The Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee also encourages diversity of
membership and promotes professionalism in our chosen field.
The Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee of TIPS is pleased to announce the creation of ADMIRALTY CHAT.
ADMIRALTY CHAT is a forum for lawyers, students and staff who practice/study/work in the area of admiralty law.
Participants will have an opportunity to pose questions, offer advice, and share information on either of two separate
"ListServes," which are distinguished by subject matter - one focusing on general maritime claims, torts and contracts
("ADMIRALTY CHAT - MT&C"); and another focusing on cargo claims ("ADMIRALTY CHAT - CARGO").
Guided only by these broad categories, group participants determine the specific topics for discussion.
If you are interested in participating in ADMIRALTY CHAT, please click on the appropriate links below to read the rules
and register for either, or both, of the ListServes.
We are trying to update our list of email addresses to ensure that everyone receives
an email link to our quarterly committee newsletter.
If you are not receiving a link, TIPS may not have your e-mail address.
Don't miss out on this important membership benefit. Please give us
your email address today by clicking on this link to the TIPS mailbox at tips@abanet.org . If your e-mail has changed,
you may also use the TIPS mailbox to update your old address.
For enrollment in a committee of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section, simply fill out the on-line
committee application form.
Please note: If you are
already a Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section member, you may join up
to three (3) committees at no additional cost. However, if you are not
a Section member, you must join the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section first.
If you have any questions regarding
participation in TIPS Committees, please contact Sonia Schroeder, our
Committees Administrator at schroeders@staff.abanet.org
or by phone at 312/988-6229.
