Andrew Z. Adkins, III is a nationally recognized expert in legal technology and the Director of the Legal Technology Institute at the University of Florida Levin College of Law as well as the Executive Director of the International Center for Automated Information Research. He is also an Adjunct Professor, teaching Law Practice Management to 2L and 3L law students. He has authored several books including, "You Can’t Get Much Closer Than This: Combat with Company H, 317th Infantry Regiment, 80th Division," published by Casemate Publishing; "The Lawyer's Guide to Computerized Practice Management Systems," published by the ABA; "The Y2K Resource Handbook and Planning Guide for Lawyers," published by the Legal Technology Institute, and "WordPerfect Law Office Solutions for Windows," published by James Publishing. He is also the publisher of the "Microsoft-Internet Lawyer Study" (1999), the "ASP Study" (2000), as well as the "PricewaterhouseCoopers-Legal Research Center Knowledge Management Study" (2003). Joel Alleyne

Joel Alleyne is a consultant, researcher, entrepreneur and manager. He recently completed seven year contract term in a knowledge leadership and strategy role working as Chief Information and Knowledge Officer for Borden Ladner Gervais LLP — one of Canada’s largest law firms. Alleyne has worked with many organizations in both the public and private sectors across the Americas and in Europe. He has consulted to clients and spoken internationally on issues of Information and Knowledge Management in professional services – including law firms. He is Practitioner in Residence with the Knowledge Media Design Institute at the University of Toronto (UT). He is appointed as an adjunct instructor at the Faculty of Medicine (UT) and is currently teaching in the graduate programme and working towards a PhD in knowledge management / information studies at the University of Toronto iSchool. Jason R. Baron serves as the Director of Litigation for the National Archives and Records Administration. Previously, he was a trial attorney and senior counsel with the Department of Justice, where he litigated cases involving the preservation of White House email. He currently represents NARA on The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Records Retention and Production, where he is member of the Steering Committee and Editor-in-Chief of the Sedona Best Practices Commentary on the Use of Search and Information Retrieval Methods in E-Discovery. He also is a founding co-coordinator of the National Institute of Standards and Technology TREC legal track, a multi-year international information retrieval project devoted to evaluating search issues in a legal context, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, and a member of the Georgetown Law Center Advanced E-Discovery Institute Advisory Board. Mr. Baron is a frequent lecturer and author both in the U.S. and internationally on the subject of the preservation of public records in electronic form. Among his honors, Mr. Baron was recently named a recipient of the 2008 Fed 100 Award, sponsored by Federal Computer Week, for his e-discovery related advocacy. Mr. Baron received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Wesleyan University, and his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law.

Laura A. Calloway has served as the Director of the Alabama State Bar's Practice Management Assistance Program since 1997. Before joining the Alabama State Bar to establish the program, she practiced law in Montgomery, Alabama, for 16 years as a solo practitioner and member of two small firms, concentrating her practice in residential real estate, collections, consumer bankruptcy and family law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, where she participates in the Law Practice Management Section and serves on the section's governing council and Practice Management Advisors' Committee. Jean-François De Rico is a member of the Quebec Bar. He specializes in commercial litigation, as well as bankruptcy and insolvency law. He has been involved in commercial disputes pertaining to breach of contract, real estate, secured creditors rights. He has been involved in reorganizations and restructurings made in virtue of the Companies Creditor Arrangement Act, both for debtor companies and financial institutions and regularly acts on behalf of businesses, financial institutions, and insurers before arbitration tribunals, trial and appeal courts. Judge Herbert Dixon is a former Chair of the National Conference of State Trial Judges. He is chair of the ABA’s Judicial Division Court Technology Committee, Technology Columnist for The Judges’ Journal magazine, a member of the ABA House of Delegates, and Senior Judicial Advisor to William & Mary Law School’s Courtroom 21 Project, the world’s most technologically advanced trial and appellate courtroom. Judge Dixon is a member of the American Law Institute – American Bar Association (ALI-ABA) Technology Advisory Panel and the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. Judge Dixon serves on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He is a former Presiding Judge of both the Civil Division and the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division of the court and was chair of the court’s electronic filing pilot project, which received national recognition for its success. Judge Dixon received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Howard University.

Bruce L. Dorner has authored hundreds of articles on a broad range of legal topics and lectured around the country and internationally educating attorneys on the best uses of technology and practice management. His skill as an educator was recognized by the award of the American Bar Association General Practice Division Educator of the Year for 2007. He was the founding chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association Technology Section and also was chair of the Law Practice Management Section. At the American Bar Association level he serves as the chair of the Technology Committee of the General Practice Solo and Small Firm Division. Additionally, he was vice-chair of the Computer and Technology Division of the Law Practice Management Section and is a past chair of the Solo and Small Firm Division. Nancy Duhon grew up in the heart of Cajun culture in Lafayette, Louisiana. She moved to Washington, DC to attended Georgetown University, and eventually became the office administrator for a small law firm there. She next moved to her current home in Atlanta, Georgia to attend Emory University School of Law. Nancy is admitted to practice in Georgia and Louisiana, and is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association. Peg Duncan

Peg Duncan has worked in the information technology branches of five large departments in the Canadian federal government throughout her career, often working to bridge the gaps between the business of an organization and its IT community. In 2000 she launched the "Barrister's Briefcase" project to select and implement tools to help federal litigators deal with major document-heavy cases involving electronic sources of information. E-discovery and legal technology expert, Dominic Jaar is legal counsel and consultant at Ledjit Consulting, a firm specializing in information management, e-discovery and law practice management technologies. He speaks throughout North America and writes on legal and technology issues. He is frequently quoted in the press as an expert on information management. Mr. Jaar is on the editorial board of Sedona Canada and was in charge of drafting the French version of The Sedona Canada Principles on E-discovery. He is a member of The Sedona Conference’s working groups 1 (USA) and 6 (International). Nils Jensen

Nils Jensen is a senior litigator with the British Columbia Prosecution Service in Victoria BC. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law where he has taught evidence, trial and appellate advocacy. He has also taught trial advocacy, criminal law and evidence in Canada’s first Inuit Law Program in Iqualuit, Nunavut. He has been a frequent contributor to Continuing Legal Education courses, the Pacific Legal Technology Conference, Bar Admission courses and Royal Canadian Mounted Police training. His innovative use of technology in the courtroom has gained him a reputation as a leader in the field. He has used technology before judges and juries in cases ranging from impaired driving to major frauds and murder. While seconded to the Court Services Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General in Victoria, he led the award winning expansion of the videoconference network, now used widely in British Columbia courts and correctional centres. He was also the driving force behind the ground-breaking adjudication system used to resolve municipal bylaw disputes. The project received a provincial Premier’s Award. He holds an undergraduate degree in Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, and a Masters of Law from London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London. Tom O'Connor

Tom O'Connor is a nationally known consultant, speaker and writer in the area of computerized litigation support systems. He is a New England native who graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in 1972 with a BA in Political Science. After attending law school for one year at The University of Notre Dame, Tom returned to Baltimore and undertook a career as a paralegal specializing in complex litigation. His initial exposure to a document intensive case came several years later when he assisted several public interest firms in Boston with a class action voting rights suit brought on behalf of patients at state hospitals. Over the years he has been involved in asbestos litigation, the Keating case, the San Diego Civic Center construction litigation, California class actions against crematoriums, national breast implant litigation, tobacco litigation on behalf of the Attorney General of Texas and various phases of the Enron litigation.

In 1981, Judge Rosenbaum was appointed Minnesota’s United States Attorney, serving until 1985, when he was appointed to the United States District Court. He is the author of "Microsoft Outlook 2007 for Lawyers" which was published by the American Bar Association. In October of 2005 Schorr was named by the Pacific Technology Foundation as one of the Top 50 Technology Leaders in Hawaii. He's a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) Computer Society, the American Bar Association and the United States Naval Institute. In his free time Schorr enjoys coaching football, running marathons, reading, playing softball, ocean kayaking and has completed the Tinman triathlon 3 times. He lives in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

Andy Simpson is the principal of a two lawyer, insurance defense and litigation law firm in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In private practice for twenty years, he is an early adopter of law office technology, beginning with his first “laptop,” the 28-pound Osborne Executive. He uses technology to enhance the quality of service he delivers to his clients and to gain for trial. He credits his use of technology with saving an innocent court appointed client from jail and for helping him deliver the first ever gender discrimination verdict against the U.S. Marshals Service. He has been a speaker on law office technology topics at each of the ABA’s National Solo and Small Firm Conferences as well as for the Virgin Islands Bar Association. David Whelan is a lawyer and law librarian and has worked in a variety of legal information environments. Following law school David was head of computing for the SMU School of Law Underwood Law Library, in Dallas, Texas. He was subsequently the director of the American Bar Association's Legal Technology Resource Center, where he was involved in practice technology and Web information projects. David left the ABA to join the Cincinnati Law Library Association, a county subscription law library in Ohio. As library director, David shifted the library's services to integrate online, remote access legal research for the library's subscribers. He joined the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2007 and, as Manager, Legal Information, is responsible for the Great Library and Corporate Records and Archives. David is a frequent speaker and writer on legal technology, legal research, and information topics.
