Dan Pinnington

Dan Pinnington is the Director of practicePRO with the Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company. practicePRO is an innovative claims prevention initiative that provides attorneys with tools and resources to assist them in both adopting risk management strategies into their practices, and in adapting to the changing practice climate, in particular in the area of technology.

Dan was called to the Ontario Bar in 1993. He graduated from the University of Windsor in 1991 with a joint LLB/JD degree. Prior to joining LawPRO Dan practiced for seven years as a litigator, handling general and family litigation matters, as well as those in the information technology, wrongful dismissal, and corporate/commercial areas. Dan has advanced technology skills, and for several years also held the Manager of Information Systems position at his firm.

Dan is well known in legal technology circles, and frequently writes and speaks on law office technology. Dan is Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Law Practice Management Section, and is on the Practice Management Advisors and Core Web Committees of the American Bar Association Law Practice Management Section. He is a past president of The Canadian Society for the Advancement of Legal Technology.
