Lincoln Mead

Born under the crushing burden of the ethnic diversity of Swedish and Irish parents Mr. Lincoln Mead has transcended 'caucasian' and is often described as being translucent. He has survived his grandmother's patented "Pimp-Slap" therapy for his Tourettes Syndrome and was allowed to mingle with regular kids in the public schools systems of Utah and Oregon where he excelled at wino rolling, sullen speech and 3 Card Monte. After successfully completing public school, obtaining his graduation certificate and avoiding any felony convictions he joined the military under the mistaken assumption that he could get out from under his mother's oppressive discipline. He served for seven years and emerged, not just a decorated combat veteran, but a vicious though reliable bookie; a master of the hypnotic and alluring nose flute; and a gourmand of 3 minute pasta dishes which he miraculously cooks in only 60 seconds.

Mr. Mead brings an astonishing range of job experiences to his presentations having worked as a salmon de-boner, deep forest tree marker, short order cook, runway model oilier; bartender and confrontational process server. For the past 13 years his passion for problem solving has driven him to delve deeply into the number two source of all human aggravation: technology. Starting with the design, installation and implementation of credit union turn-key systems and quickly moving on to technology product design he then helped in the creation of a local Internet Service Provider ArosNet. There has been some speculation that this partnership in starting an ISP was driven more by a compulsive need for digital pornography than a love of technology but it was quickly laid to rest when Mr. Mead agreed to leave ArosNet and combine his love of the problem solving of technology questions with the number one source of human aggravation and problem generation: Lawyers.

As the IT Administrator for the Utah State Bar he has developed the Bar's first website and seen it through several iterations; implemented a program to assist members of the Bar for getting answers to technology questions and has helped arrange for technology partnerships for the member benefits program such as online CLE. He is currently working to create interactive communications tools for Bar sections and working with the courts and state offices to help get technology tools and information to members of the Bar and the public.

Other projects have dealt with the outsourcing of the Bar's telecommunications system to a VoIP based service provider and the migration of the legacy membership management system to the new hosted BarAlliance system. In his spare time Mr. Mead serves as an adjunct professor at the Salt Lake Community College where he teaches Technology Essentials for Paralegals. This exciting topic contains such paralegal skills as advanced solitaire and eBay manipulation strategies; repetitive strain injury reporting and compensation tactics and spike heel combat techniques.

His hobbies include composing symphonies for the castenettes and maracas; and expanding his collection of Marcel Marceau records. He currently lives in Salt Lake City Utah where he and the startlingly Welsh wife he imported from Napa California work to teach their three sons War, Plague, and Pestilence the fine Celtic arts of knee-capping, revenue collection and brogue generation.
