ClearType has now been activated on your computer. To fine-tune ClearType, go to: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/tuner/Step1.aspx

If you don't like the result produced by turning on ClearType, do the following to turn it off.

  1. Click Start and select Control Panel
  2. Select Display OR Right click on the Desktop and select Properties
  3. Click on the Appearance tab in the Display Properties window
  4. Click on the Effects button
  5. First, select Standard from the pull down menu below, "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:" and see if you like that any better. If not, try step 5a.
    1. Uncheck the box next to "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:"
  6. Click OK, then OK
