    Technology and Ethics Essentials for Paralegals (Without Pompadours)
    Presented on March 27, 2003, at the Annual Meeting of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) in Newport, R.I. Focuses on the ethical issues facing paralegals when using technology and especially the Internet to provide legal services. Coverage begins with a history of the paralegal and legal professions, then addresses the implications of newly evolving definitions of the terms "paralegal" and "practice of law" against a backdrop of longstanding ethical prohibitions against the unauthorized practice of law (UPL). Both the ABA Model Rules and rules promulgated by the national paralegal organizations are discussed.
