e-Volunteerism--The Electronic Journal of the Volunteer Community [subscription]
The Electronic Journal of the Volunteer Community is an interactive, quarterly publication which "caters to volunteer leaders/managers who want to go beyond the mundane in the volunteerism field." Also includes printable training materials, electronic roundtable discussions, and--eventually--audio and video contributions. $40 gives you access to four quarters and all past issues.
Virtual Volunteering Project
The Virtual Volunteering Project was launched to encourage and assist in the development of volunteer activities that can be completed off-site via the Internet. It is now part of the Volunteerism and Community Engagement Initiatives at the University of Texas at Austin. Resources for organizations include articles on the benefits of using the Internet to find and involve volunteers; examples of ways an organization can involve volunteers via the Internet; and how to set up and manage a virtual volunteering program. Resources for volunteers range from how to locate virtual volunteering opportunities to tips for working on volunteer assignments.
