NPower--Tech Surveyor
NPower's Tech Surveyor is a free tool that allows nonprofits to collect detailed information and reports about their technology assets, including computers, servers, networks, printers, peripherals, and software. It can also profile the technology skills of an organization's staff. The data is stored in a password-protected area of the Tech Surveyor database, and can be updated at anytime.

Published by John Wiley & Sons in 1999 and written by Michael W. Johnston and Robin Lee, this book surveys the hardware and software needed to get online and discusses reasons for nonprofits to use the Internet.

The Nonprofit Internet Handbook [book]
Published by White Hat Communications in January 1998 and written by Gary M. Grobman and Gary B. Grant. Explores how to get online, and what nonprofit organizations need to know about the Internet. Includes reviews of web sites of interest to nonprofits

The Wilder Nonprofit Field Guide to: Getting Started on the Internet [book]
Published in 1999 by the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation and written by Gary Grobman and Gary B. Grant, this publication shows you how to use e-mail, search engines, web browsers, mailing lists, and bulletin boards, and includes information on useful nonprofit Internet sites.

Wired for Good: A Technology Guide Book for Nonprofits [book]
Published by the Center for Excellence in Nonprofits (CEN), this primer and planning guide addresses the needs of both small and large nonprofits, placing a heavy emphasis on research and planning. It also presents real-life examples of how nonprofits are using technology to further their mission. Information on ordering by mail is available at the web site.

Helping.org--Stories from the Field
Helping.org provides a directory of links to nonprofit organizations that are currently applying communications technology in their work. The directory is categorized by the mission of the organization, and includes Arts, Conservation/Environment, Education, Healthcare, Social/Human Service, and General.

Wired for Good--Technology Lessons Learned
Wired for Good, a program of the National Center for Excellence in Nonprofits, offers advice from nonprofits that have implemented technology in their organizations. Stories range from e-mail, to relational databases, to telecommuting.
