Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

VITA

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) nationwide program was organized to provide free assistance to low-income, elderly, disabled, and Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals who require assistance in preparing their tax returns and cannot afford the services of a paid professional tax preparer.

For this filing season, the VITA program will need the Tax Section's assistance and expertise, so please volunteer for as little or as much time as you choose, but please choose to volunteer. We're working with the IRS to make volunteering easier than ever, by providing you with an organized list of VITA locations, and dates and hours of operation. Please spread the word about this rewarding opportunity.

For the most current list of VITA locations and hours of operation made available by the IRS please click here. The format is not very user-friendly, but you may wish to use the "Find" feature of Adobe Reader (click on the Binoculars icon) to search for your zip code, or a nearby zip code.
