Tax Section Career Resource Center
Careers in Tax Law
The Section of Taxation co-hosts “Careers in Tax Law” panels at various law schools around the country to introduce J.D. and LL.M. students to careers available in the tax practice area. The career panels typically include three to four lawyers representing private practice, the government, academia, and one of the big four accounting firms. Panelists generally speak for about five minutes each, relating how they pursued their careers, pitfalls they may have encountered, and any advice they may have for the students interested in pursuing a career in tax law. A 10-15 minute Q&A session concludes the panel, and participants then break for a networking reception, including light refreshments and drinks.
The following Careers in Tax Law Panels are scheduled for fall 2009. Please click on the school where you’d like to attend a career panel to RSVP. Please include in your response your full name and the name of the law school panel you’re attending.- Golden Gate University Law - November 5, 2009, 5:00 – 7:00 pm

- To provide continuing education targeted toward young lawyers and law students interested in tax
- To foster an open environment that facilitates and encourages networking and career development for young lawyers and law students interested in tax.
