  • How do I enroll in the ABA Section of Taxation?
    Membership in the ABA is a prerequisite to enrollment in the Section of Taxation. To enroll in the ABA and/or Tax Section, please access the ABA site at http://www.abanet.org/members/join or contact ABA member Services at (800) 285-2221.
     
  • How can I enroll in a Section of Taxation Committee?
    Information about joining Section Committees can be found at http://www.abanet.org/tax/membership/. To join a committee, complete the online Committee Preference Form at http://www.abanet.org/abanet/common/MyABA/home.cfm.
     
  • Where can I find information about testimonies, comments and recommendations submitted by the Section of Taxation and its committees?
    A list of submissions can be found on the Section web site at http://www.abanet.org/tax/pubpolicy.
     
  • Where can I find information about tax-related ABA CLE programs?
    Please visit the Section of Taxation's online calendar at http://www.abanet.org/tax/calendar/ to obtain information about tax-related CLE programs. The ABA Continuing Legal Education Department, offers a variety of tax-related CLE programs co-sponsored by the Section of Taxation throughout the year. In addition, the Section co-sponsors CLE programs with the American Law Institute (ALI-ABA).
     
  • What is Thoughful Insights. Useful Analysis?
    Through an exclusive agreement with Thomson West, Section of Taxation committee program materials can be accessed over the Internet, free of charge to Section members.     • What materials are available on ?
      The database holds the text of meeting materials from the 1999 May Meeting to the present. Due to licensing agreements, some but not all of the materials from the 1999 May and Annual meetings are offered. Materials from subsequent meetings are generally posted within 30 days of the meeting.
       
  • How do I access members-only information on the Section of Taxation website?
    As you move through the ABA website, you may run into links to pagesthat have been designated for ABA Members only. When you click on the link you will get a pop-up box asking you for a User Name and Password. This same User Name and Password will allow you in to areas marked as private for members of a particular Section, Division, Forum, or Committee. Enter your eight-digit ABA Member ID as your User Name and your last name as your Password and click on "OK."

    A listing of Tax Section Committee Chairs can be found in the ABA Leadership catalog, the "Redbook Directory" at http://www.abanet.org/directory/leaderdirectory.cfm (Membership logon required).
