Welcome to the March 2005 issue of eBLAST!

 

Read about the  visa resolution sponsored by the Section and adopted by the ABA House of Delegates at the February 2005 Midyear Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah.  That meeting also featured a program, jointly sponsored with the Section of International Law, From Warranties to Localization of Language:  Everything You Need to Know About Selling Online Products Worldwide, and a luncheon program featuring Benjamin H. Wu, Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy for the US Department of Commerce.

*   The Intellectual Propoerty Law  Section's Spring Meeting on April 14-16 in Washington, DC, at which the SciTech Section is putting on three programs.   Section members are entitled to a discounted registration fee, so register today!

 

*  ABA Day in Washington on April 27-28.   Please participate so we can make our views and voices heard in DC!

Nominating Committee Seeks Candidates

In accordance with the Section's by laws, Section Chair, Ivan Fong, in consultation with the Section Council, has appointed the 2005-2006 Nominating Committee.  The Nominating Committee is charged with recommending a slate of candidates to fill open Officer and Council positions as of August 2005.  Positions which will be open include:  Section Delegate to the House of Delegates, Section Secretary and three Council positions. 

Suggestions for candidates may be sent to any member of the Nominating Committee:

Section Presents 3 CLE Programs at the IP Section Spring Conference
April 13-16, 2005, Washington, DC

For the second year in a row, The Section of Science & Technology Law is co-sponsoring and presenting programs at the ABA Intellectual Property Law's Spring Conference.  This is a great meeting and Section members are entitled to the IP member registration fee discount .

ABA Annual Meeting -Better Than Ever
August 3-8, 2005, Chicago, IL

The ABA Annual Meeting is going to be held August 3-8, 2005 in Chicago, Illinois.  The Section has many wonderful CLE programs and social events planned and we hope you will join us for the best Annual Meeting yet!
