Traditionally, the Standing Committee on Federal Judicial Improvements meets four times each association year in locations across the country. Two of these meetings are held in conjunction with larger American Bar Association gatherings (notably the Midyear Meeting and Annual Meeting) and the remaining two are stand-alone meetings of the committee.
