Trust and Estate Substantive Groups and Committees

The RPTE Section has 7 Trust and Estate Groups and 26 Trust and Estate Committees that focus on trusts, estate planning, employee benefits, insurance, and probate and trust litigation. Click on each link below to learn more about each TE Group and the TE Committees within each group.

Task Forces

The RPTE Task Forces are created for specific initiatives by the Section Council or Executive Committee. If you'd like to get involved, please email the task force chairperson. Please click on each RPTE Task Force to learn more.

Nominations Committee

The nominations committee is appointed each year and consists of five members. At least two past chairs of the Section must be appointed to the committee, and at least one member of the nominations committee can be neither a present nor former officer nor a member of the Section’s council. The nominations committee receives and consider suggestions for nominations and nominates (i) officers of the Section, Section delegates, and council members; (ii) recommends assistant secretaries; (iii) recommends, for the last Section fiscal year that a person is expected to serve as the finance and corporate sponsorship officer, an assistant finance and corporate sponsorship officer; and (iv) to the extent that notice can be given in time for the election, persons to fill vacancies in these positions for unexpired terms commencing at the next annual meeting.

Special Project Funding - Reserves Policy

If your group or committee would like to request funding, a request should be submitted by June 30, 2010. The request should include:

  1. Sponsoring group(s) and/or committee(s) and primary project contact person
  2. Description of the project
  3. How project furthers the Section's goals
  4. Project time line
  5. Proposed budget

Requests will be reviewed by the executive committee in July and presented to the council at the annual meeting in August.

CLE Meeting Program Materials

If you're a Section member, simply login to the RPTE website and you'll be able to access CLE program materials online approximately 2 weeks prior to each CLE meeting. A cd of program materials will also be available at each meeting.

Instructions for Setting up eCLE Teleconferences/Webcasts

If you would like to set up a eCLE Teleconference/Webcast, please send an email to one of the RPTE CLE Committee Members below, and provide an outline of your topic and any suggested speakers.

Instructions for Setting up Teleconferences (Audio Only)

If you're a committee chair, vice chair or moderator and would like to set up a teleconference, please call Bunny Lee, Committees Coordinator, at 312-988-5651 or email her at leeb@staff.abanet.org. Bunny will email you with a call-in number and passcode, and either you or she can send out an email to all committee members notifying them of the upcoming teleconference. When a chairperson/moderator dials in, he/she will receive a voicemail prompt, "if you are the chairperson for this call, please press the "star" key." Please IGNORE this message, and the system will connect you automatically. You will hear a beep each time a new participant joins the call.

All conference call participants have the use of the following functions:

  • * * List available Commands
