The Group B committees have been very active. Here is a summary of their recent activities:

  • The B-2 Committee, under the leadership of Malcolm Meyer, presented a program at the 2001 annual meeting in Chicago entitled "Ethics and Malpractice Issues Arising in the Context of Title Insurance Policies." 
  • The B-3 committee, under Mike Donner’s leadership, gave a well-received presentation at the 2001 Spring meeting at Pentagon City. A summary has been posted on their web page.
  • The B-1 committee has recently sponsored several programs, including a program at the 2002 Annual Meeting (presented with the Law Practice Management Section) entitled "Winning Alternatives to the Billable Hour," a program at the 2002 Spring CLE (presented with the assistance of of several Group I committees) on technology tools to aid transactional real estate practice, and a program at the 2001 Annual Meeting (presented in concert with the Business Law and Law Practice Management Sections) on task-based billing and alternative fee arrangements. In addition, the Committee cultivated publication of an article entitled "A Comprehensive Alternative Fee Proposal for Project Development" in the July 2002 number of Practical Real Estate Lawyer.
