Michael F. Donner is a litigation attorney
with the San Francisco, California firm of Stein & Lubin
LLP, where he specializes in real estate, employment and
general business matters. He is the Chairman of this Section’s
Real Property Litigation Committee (B-3) and a member of
the Judicial Appointments Committee of the San Francisco
County Bar Association.
He received A.B. and M.S. (Real Estate Development) degrees
from Columbia University and a J.D. degree from the University
of California, Hastings College of the Law. Michael is a
frequent author and speaker on litigation issues that affect
real estate and business. He received this Section’s
2003 Excellence in Writing/Best Practical Use Award for
his article “Litigation Avoidance 101: Thinking Through
The Use of Boilerplate Provisions for Arbitration, Mediation
and Attorneys’ Fees in Contracts” (ABA Real
Property & Probate Journal, Vol. 17, No. 3 May/June
2003).
Michael also has been a featured speaker at numerous ABA

James J. Eischen, Jr. is the managing
partner of the La Jolla,California firm of Eischen &
Associates, where he specializes in real estate and general
business matters. He is the Vice-Chairman of this Section’s
Real Property Litigation Committee (B-3). He received a
B.A. degree from Creighton University and his J.D. from
the University of California at Davis. Jim is the author
of "Use of Analogies in Closing Argument," The
Trial Lawyer's Guide, (Vol. 32, No. 3, 1988).
