Welcome to Our New Fellows!
The Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law welcomes our new class of young lawyer fellows. They are Jasleen Kaur Anand of Valley Stream, New York; Suzanne Luna of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Tanya D. Marsh of Indianapolis, Indiana; Rana H. Salti of Chicago, Illinois; and Michael A. Spielman of Cleveland, Ohio. The Section has designed the fellows program to encourage a diverse participation in the Section by providing that at least two of the fellowships will be for minorities. Funds have been allocated by the Section to cover expenses for the fellows to attend meetings of the Section during their fellowships.
Each fellow is assigned a “committee chair”of a RPPT substantive committee who will expose the fellow to opportunities to do substantive committee work, including writing materials for CLE programs and/or to be submitted to Section publications. Each fellow also has a mentor to suggest ways the fellow can maximize opportunities for participation and professional development within the Section and help introduce the fellow to other Section leaders.
Four two-year positions are filled each year. To be considered for selection, a person must have practiced in the probate (including trusts and estates) or real property area for at least one year and be younger than 36 years of age or have been admitted to the bar less than 10 years and have demonstrated leadership at the state or local bar level or in the ABA Young Lawyers Division.
For more information about the fellows program or nominations for next year’s fellows class, please contact Steve Gorin at (314) 552-6151 or sgorin@thompsoncoburn.com, or contact the Section’s marketing and communications manager, Amy Cianci, at (312) 988-5590 or ciancia@staff.abanet.org.
