The goal of the Quarles & Brady Prize in Property & Probate Scholarship is to encourage and reward law student writing on real property, probate, and trust law subjects of general and current interest. As part of this effort, the ABA and Quarles & Brady LLP will sponsor the contest, which requests that law school students submit to the ABA Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law original essays on a current topic dealing with real property, probate, or trust law. The essay contest is designed to attract students to the real property, probate, and trust law field and to strongly encourage scholarship in these areas. The Quarles & Brady Prize is sponsored by the real estate and estate planning practice groups of Quarles & Brady LLP, a distinguished group of more than 70 lawyers practicing nationwide from the firm’s offices in Phoenix, Milwaukee, Chicago, Tucson, Naples, and Madison (Wisconsin). Quarles & Brady has long supported the Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law with Section officers, council members, standing committee participants, and committee chairs and has played a leadership role in many of the key organizations (including ACREL, ACTEC, ACMA, and the American Law Institute) that help to shape the practice. “Our sponsorship reflects our long-standing commitment to serve the profession as well and as honorably as we serve our clients,” said Patrick M. Ryan, chair of Quarles & Brady’s Executive Committee. “We hope that our participation will encourage the best young lawyers now entering the real estate and estate planning fields to make a similar commitment.”
