Help Katrina Relief Efforts during Your Winter Break

This Issue's Table of Contents

The ABA Law Student Division has created the "Student Hurricane Network" to help Gulf Coast Residents recover from the effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. More than a year after the storm, much remains to be done and many people are still in need of help.

You can find out more about the programs on the Law Student Division Katrina web page. There, you can volunteer for specific projects according to special areas of need. Real Estate Law Students may be interested in the Successions Project, which helps families process the title transfer needed for the public assistance to homeowners. There is currently a tremendous backlog in the title transfer process.  You can work with New Orleans Legal Assistance attorneys to locate important documentation and advance systemic reform in the title transfer process.
