As most of you know, Emmanuel B. (“Manny”)
Halper has long been a valued and respected member
of, speaker and contributor to our Section.
Over the last several years, he has
created and continues to run (in several cities)
the very successful Community Minority Outreach
Program, through which he has enabled a
significant number of minority attorneys to take
courses on advanced commercial real estate skills.
Our Section has widely lauded Manny
for this effort; and this past week at the ABA mid-year
meeting in Salt Lake City Manny was honored by the
ABA’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity,
which bestowed upon him its Spirit of Excellence
Award in recognition of his efforts in
creating that program.
The description of
his award can be read here
and a copy of the Program and the purpose
of the award can be found here.
Several section members and many of our leadership
were able to attend the awards luncheon this past
Saturday; and all of us in the Section, and particularly
the Real Property Division, commend Manny and add
our congratulations and thanks to him for an award
well deserved and a task well done.
We are also pleased Manny could share
this award with his family,
and we commend him along with the other
recipients. Thank you, Manny!
