ABA President Urges Musharraf to Restore the Rule of Law in Pakistan
The recent crisis in Pakistan has led to the suspension of that nation’s Supreme Court and the arrests of thousands of lawyers and judges. ABA President Bill Neukom has called on American lawyers to stand up for the rule of law and has urged Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to restore constitutional law, reinstate the Supreme Court justices, and to free those he has wrongly arrested. Georgia Street Law Program Moving Ahead Toward Long-Term Sustainability
The ABA ROLI Street Law clinic is now incorporated into Tbilisi State University Law Faculty's syllabus, and students who participate will receive ten academic credits upon completion. Through the program, twenty masters students from TSU Law Faculty will serve as street law trainers in ten high schools, advancing the rule of law by raising Georgian youth's confidence in their country's legal system.
