The American Bar Association, in conjunction with the Oman Ministry of Justice, sponsored a workshop on the investigation and trial of cyber-crime cases on December 2-6 in Muscat, Oman.  Approximately 40 Omanis attended the training.  Participants included judges, prosecutors, police officers and officials charged with Internet regulation.

The workshop served as a follow up to a cyber-crime workshop sponsored by the ABA and Omani agencies in July.  Participants and officials from the Ministry of Justice identified a systemic requirement for more advanced education in the area of electronic criminal investigations.  Many of those who attended this workshop also attended the previous session in July.  The workshop was highlighted by presentations by representatives from Microsoft, the U.S. Secret Service, various U.S. law enforcement agencies, and the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
