The Rule of Law Initiative Morocco staff and Embassy Political Officer Craig Karp awarded students of the University of Mohammedia-Hassan II Law School certificates in honor of their achievements for successfully completing coursework on human rights issues and practical legal skills. The two-year Human Rights Clinical Legal Education program funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor draws to a close at the end of July. The program will be handed over to the Mohammedia law faculty administration. Ensuring the sustainability of the first-ever clinical legal education program in Morocco has been a priority for Initiative staff, and the commitment of the law faculty to perpetuate the program under its own management and resources is a testament to the success of the program.
