Legal Education Workshop Conducted at the Oman College of Law
On March 25, 2007, in Wattaya, Oman, the ABA Rule of Law Initiative conducted a workshop on the importance of legal education to professors at the Oman College of Law. Advanced Cyber-Crime Workshop Held in Oman
The American Bar Association, in conjunction with the Oman Ministry of Justice, sponsored a workshop on the investigation and trial of cyber-crime cases on December 2-6 in Muscat, Oman. Approximately 40 Omanis attended the training. Read more »»
Mediation Skills Workshop Held in Oman
The American Bar Association, in cooperation with the Oman Ministry of Justice and the Bahrain Ministry of Justice, sponsored a workshop on mediation skills on December 16-19 in Muscat, Oman. Approximately 22 Omani judges attended the training. Read more »»

Women and the Law
The ABA is working with women lawyers in Oman to help develop the professional capacity of women in the legal sector. The ABA's work in this area includes convening women legal professionals working in the public and private sectors to participate in professional development training and to provide opportunities for professional networking. Legal Education
The ABA has conducted a series of roundtable discussions and skills trainings with the Oman College of Law. The ABA is also providing technical assistance to the College with integration of practical skills training into the curriculum. Read more »»

Judicial Development and Training
The ABA provides technical assistance with judicial education and institution-building focusing on a variety of legal topics. The ABA has conducted a series of training programs on topics including skill enhancement for attorneys in the investigation and trial of complex cases; reasonable doubt, due process and judicial independence, investigation and trial skills, intellectual property rights, mediation training and cyber crime and advanced cyber crime. The ABA’s programs in Oman have been funded by the US Department of State Office of the Middle East Partnership Initiative and the US Agency for International Development.
Background
The American Bar Association (ABA), provides legal assistance in Oman in the areas of judicial development and training, legal education, and women and the law. The ABA has maintained a full time presence through a resident advisor, based in the capital city of Muscat, since January 2006.
