The ABA Rule of Law Initiative is a public service project of the American Bar Association dedicated to promoting rule of law around the world. The ABA Rule of Law Initiative believes that rule of law promotion is the most effective long-term antidote to the pressing problems facing the world community today, including poverty, economic stagnation, and conflict.

Discussion and Consensus-Building Mark Initial Steps to Reduce Gender-Based Violence in Bangladesh
	On May 30, ABA ROLI supported a Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh (WEAB)-hosted roundtable focused on addressing gender-based violence (GBV) through community involvement. The roundtable, which brought together key actors and stakeholders, was intended to gather insight and advice on identifying, training and deploying community volunteers to better tackle GBV, particularly in rural areas of Bangladesh. Ukraine: Legal Advocacy Saves Family Homes In May 2005, Vasyl Stefanyshyn and his daughter, Iryna, were summoned to the Drohobych Rayon Court. The distraught family was joined by equally confused neighbors, who had received similar summons. The Kosovo Legal Profession Reform Index is an assessment of legal profession reform efforts aimed at establishing a more ethical, effective and independent legal profession.
