Spring 2000: "Access Denied, R-Rating, V-Chip": Should Youth Access to the Internet and Mass Media be Restricted?

Student Polls

Following are the results of the pre-test we asked our online summit participants to take in April (before delving into the issues related to "Access Denied, R-Rating, V-Chip": Should Youth Access to the Internet and Mass Media be Restricted?). At the end of the summit, we asked our participants to take a post-test; those results are also posted below.

About the Results

These results represent a diverse group of students from the Pacific Northwest to the East Coast, and include schools in the Midwest, South, and West, as well. Students of varying economic, racial and ethnic backgrounds in urban, rural, and suburban settings participated. To find out which schools participated, check out the Pilot Classrooms section.

A total of 50 high school groups with nearly 1,500 students participated.
