The U.S. intelligence community is a vast network of government agencies and other organizations that work together to safeguard the nation. Since the war on terrorism began, this community has come under intense scrutiny.
1. The main character in this cartoon is the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Of what did the Pied Piper rid Hamelin?
2. Each mouse in the cartoon has initials on its cap. What does FBI stand for? CIA? DIA? To what community do these "mice" belong?
3. The cartoon suggests at least two outlooks toward the mice. What might be the Pied Piper's outlook? What might be the cartoonist's outlook? Explain any difference in the two outlooks.
