WORKSHOP: THE CHALLENGE OF DIVERSITY

The Challenge of Diversity for Community Settings

Wednesday, April 5, 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Marshall Croddy, Constitutional Rights Foundation

As Americans continue to struggle with issues of equality and diversity, it is vital that local communities participate in an ongoing dialogue on such topics as affirmative action, bilingual education, reparations for slavery, and methods for addressing ethnic and racial tensions. Utilizing its new curriculum resource, The Challenge of Diversity, CRF will present resources for constructive discussion on such issues in community education settings including background readings, directed discussion strategies, and group action models. Participants will take part in a Civil Conversation, a methodology particularly useful for discussion of controversial topics.
