The Legal Studies major is offered through the Academy's
Department of Law. Students must take courses in Constitutional, Criminal and
International Law and a Comparative Legal Systems course. |
| Statement of Intellectual Structure: |
| "The Legal Studies Major provides an opportunity to study legal
ideas, legal institutions, and the legal process, while improving your abilities to
critically analyze issues, balance conflicting interests, and express yourself clearly and
precisely. The purpose of the program is not the training of legal professionals (which
requires at least three years of graduate legal studies); rather, the program is offered
for those cadets interested in the discipline of law as a field of critical inquiry within
a framework of a broad liberal arts education." |
