The Legal Studies major was established in 1997. |
| Statement of Intellectual Structure: |
| "The Legal Studies program involves the study of law and legal
systems from a broad public policy perspective. The program will benefit students who plan
careers in government service or law, but will also provide a stimulating liberal arts
major for those desiring a greater understanding of the role of law in society. Special
emphasis is given to issues of justice for women and minorities." |
