Program Status: The Legal Studies major was established in 1997.
Statement of Intellectual Structure:
"The Legal Studies program involves the study of law and legal systems from a broad public policy perspective. The program will benefit students who plan careers in government service or law, but will also provide a stimulating liberal arts major for those desiring a greater understanding of the role of law in society. Special emphasis is given to issues of justice for women and minorities."
Program Curricular Organization: 10 courses for the major, including six required courses and a variety of electives.
