| Statement of Intellectual Structure: |
| This multidisciplinary program is designed to introduce students to the
law as it operates in the American polity. The program emphasizes the historical, social,
philosophical and political dimensions of the law. Core courses examine case law, legal
concepts, legal theory and legal institutions. Electives seek to foster skills in writing,
public speaking and critical thinking, and to introduce students to legal issues in
society. Offerings in international law and in comparative legal systems are being added. |

Eight courses including three core courses from a list of
approved core courses, one course each from three areas (Critical Thinking, Jurisprudence,
and Legal Issues in Society) and two electives. |
