Program Status: The interdisciplinary Criminal Justice/Legal Studies program offers both a major and minor. The program offers students internships in Fayetteville, Raleigh, and Washington D.C.
Statement of Intellectual Structure:
"Criminal Justice/Legal Studies is an interdisciplinary curriculum providing preparation for careers in law enforcement, juvenile justice, court administration, corrections officers or administrators, and human services."

It is a liberal arts major which also prepares students for graduate school. Criminal Justice/Legal Studies majors pursue targeted, coordinated study of the basic theories and current practices of three disciplines which are mainstays of the criminal justice field-Political Science, Sociology, and Psychology.

Criminal Justice/Legal Studies classes at Methodist College are small, allowing ample opportunity for discussion of theories and practices being studied. Students have a variety of learning opportunities, including frequent classes with practitioners in the field, trips to criminal justice and legal agencies, computer applications, and in-class simulations."
