Andrew Jackson was a large High School in a predominately African American surburban community. The Law, Government and Community Service Magnet High School is one of the four Magnet Schools that make up Queens Campus Magnet High School. The mission of the Law, Government and Community Service Magnet High is to promote academic and social competencies, develop the qualities of leadership, and citizenship that enable students to interact positively in a global society. My criminal law class helps to achieve these goals by encouraging students to conceptualize ideas and theories using critical thinking skills and technology as a tool in researching information, assessing and evaluating conclusions based upon investigation and utilizing problem solving activities as foundation for further study.
